About me...
When it all started...
I invented the most unbelievable adventures for my action figures in a world full of castles, boats and trucks build with Lego… When that became too limited I started drawing imaginary sunny, happy tropical islands in primary school, which evolved into a bit darker drawings in high school where I discovered the world of graffiti and street art.
After finishing high school I decided to study illustration at the Willem de Kooning Academy in Rotterdam where I started working with all kinds of different media. Experimentation has always been and will always be an important part of my art. I like to discover something new in everything I do which keeps my life and art young funky and fresh.
The desire to discover new places, ways and views took me to Buenos Aires, Argentina, where a visit of a few months turned out into a few exciting years filled with art and creativity. There I (re-)discovered the mural-art and started focusing on illustration.
My wife and I moved back to Europe in 2010, to Berlin Germany, one of the most inspiring cities I have ever been. It has a certain drive or energy that keeps me hungry to make new work every day. So if you would like me to create something for you, or if you would like more information, or just to say hello, do contact me!
Hope to hear from you soon,
Bert
